Company History

In 1998, Phillip Swain established Swain Construction. Soon after, he discovered that a mere hobby had become his true passion. As his talent for building and designing homes progressed, Phillip incorporated his business in 2001. Serving the upstate of South Carolina, as well as western North Carolina, Swain Inc. has quickly become one of the most reputable residential builders in the area. Award winning builder, Phillip Swain, earned a MBA from Gardner-Webb University. He attributes his success to hard work, excellent customer service and his determination to provide a quality home that meets the needs of each individual homeowner. Always paying close attention to detail, Swain Inc. strives to give each home elegant yet functional features.

Customer service is a top priority at Swain Inc. In order to serve his clients more efficiently, Phillip brought David Swain on staff full time in 2005. David brings aboard his degree in Computer Electronics, 10+ years of executive management in the manufacturing industry and 18+ years in customer service. He established and maintains the technology behind Swain Inc. including making the company more accessible through our web site. David works side by side with Phillip, helping meet the needs of clients.

In 2007 we welcomed Jim and Kathy Dober to our team, bringing 52 years of combined industrial and administrative management experience. Jim also merits as a journeyman carpenter for 33 years. Together they compliment our staff with their diversity and dedication to jobsite management.

As our most recent team member, Rachel Swain provides our customers with the invaluable service of color coordination, interior design assistance and organization. Her years of customer service and hands on experience in the tile, flooring and fabric industries provide a solid background for her role on our team at Swain Inc.

Through the combined efforts of Phillip, David, Rachel, Jim and Kathy, Swain Inc. looks forward to embracing the challenges of the future. With experience and knowledge, Swain Inc. takes great pride in delivering a quality home and always taking care of the homeowner before, during and after the homebuilding process.

I regret that I lost the letter I sent you the other night. It was about 1:00 AM and I was feeling very tired, but good, and wrote and wrote. I'm pretty sure I mentioned something about a few of the recent changes, like:

**How well the bathtub tile-work and the concrete job looks. The edges of the
driveway and walks included an unexpected WOW! factor).

**How beautiful the super patio staining and stamping turned out.

**How professional the soffits look.

**How much beauty the stone added to our house.

**I must have repeated how awesome the front yard is. We were afraid that because of our small budget -- in spite of your best efforts -- we could have ended up with a beautiful house on a so-so lot. Wallace and I also want you and Rachel to know how blessed we also feel to have had you and your team build our home. It has been a joy for us also to work with you all....
We talk a lot of God's great blessing to us. First how we came across the type home we wanted, but never seemed to find a builder.Then we met someone who told us about Linda who drew the plan. Next we went to open houses at Crooked Creek and saw your homes. We knew right then you would be the builder, if we could afford you. Then you worked so hard to make it happen.
Next was how our home sold so quickly at a time when there must have been 20 others for sale in the neighborhood and to top that off at the slowest time of the year for real-estate sales.
What's so great is we know all this is just a blessing from the Lord. He made all this happen from beginning to end. And we thank Him above all.
He didn't just bless us, he blessed us with the best.

I should have called or emailed during the Holidays (time goes so fast) but I would just like to express how much we enjoyed our first Christmas Holiday and start of a New Year in the House…. Again Sorry I meant to email, call or visit you guys prior to this season and we would like to wish you a great 2007 Year.

I know not hearing from us is good; the house is great we have had so many compliments on the appearance, quality and extras you place in your building. I was looking back at some of the Photos made one year ago while and cant believe it came together so well. From the First Day Phillip was standing on the Lot saying the house needs to be here, we can slope it this way limit Steps etc… to the final moving day it went just as you guys said.

I don’t think Donna or Nick could be any happier – Other than Nick was worried that Santa would not be able to get down the Chimney but after I explained to Nick, Phillip made a Special Chimney so Santa could come down all went well (Santa Came!)

Really guys the house exceeds what we expected and we wish the best for you and your families look forward this seeing this years Show Case of Homes hope you Kick Butt this year on all the awards and continue to have great success in the future, we are proud to have a Swain Home and have made such friends. g

Hi Phillip! Don't hyperventilate or anything, but it's a note from me, Sandy!
I stay so busy out in Pelham that we never see each other. Just wanted to let you know that I think the house is looking great and I am getting so excited about finally getting to move into it! You are an awesome builder and a great person to work with and I know we don't say it enough, coz' just like in my job all you ever hear sometimes is what is going wrong and how are you gonna fix it.
